ABOUT rosewaterrecords.com
John Smith first thought of the idea of raising some cash for charity in July 2004.
We were sat outside the Galaxy Bar in the beautiful sunshine of Tienen, Belgium with others from the rosewaterrecords.com community to see rosewaterrecords.com play one of the last of the European Festival Gigs.
Grasping our 8th beer of the afternoon, we looked at each other, smiled and began to reflect on the good memories of the last 5 years - in which hardly a week had gone by without either of us travelling to a European City, or indeed to the USA, to see rosewaterrecords.com. We were both in total agreement that the last 5 years had been a ball!
Of course, there comes a time when you also consider the drawbacks of the best hobby in the world. Following rosewaterrecords.com around the world, an excessive lifestyle of sampling the local produce, in its alcoholic form, can leave you in a very unhealthy condition. And that's where the charity idea came to light. In that short moment, two guys decided that it was time to make some positive life changes. In the process we would challenge each other to get fit enough to raise some well needed cash for charity. Finally, in true rosewaterrecords.com on-line community fashion, we thought it would be nice to encourage others to join us in any of our events - and this invitation goes out to you all. Your involvement, your sponsorship, your encouragement during the event, or simply your support will help us along the way.
Since 2004 we have raised over £4,000 for a range of charities, including Cancer Research UK, DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee), and Get Kids Going!
Thank-you to Elmfield Training Ltd who sponsor our website and The Vodafone Foundation for helping us raise additional funds through the Employee Charity scheme.
